Archer Characteristics

Archer specializes in powerful long-range bow and arrow attacks, and can move quickly and stealthily. Her only downside is that she is easily pursued by Knights; however, she can overcome this vulnerability by using her environment to her advantage, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike her foes down with a critical arrow shot. Archer is designed for players who are skilled at controlling characters with precision. If Archer is guarded by a Knight in combat, she’ll make her enemies realize how foolish it was to confront her. Archer’s most remarkable special ability is her Double Jump.

Archer Skills
General

Lire is a Archer who usually stands to support her teammates by sniping enemies from afar.

Archers shoot arrows. Arrows can be "Defended", reducing a bit of damage from it. Melee characters, such as Elesis, have arrow defense.
Arrows with a special buff towards it (ie Flame Arrow, Hyper Shot, etc) cannot initiate an arrow defense status.
Arrows can be reflected sometimes during a Defend.
All of Elesis' Jobs can activate "Berserk" while being shot by a full Arrow Combo.
Shot Arrows can stun foes, giving the targets difficulty in mobility.

Lire is the first character to ever Double Jump.
She has an Aerial Heel Stomp, as only her Melee attack.

Lire's dash is more of a "Side-Step" movement.

Be wary that when on the ground, when charging, Lire will be unable to move. This can be avoided by using a simple dash attack before charging, or by pressing the enter key twice after charging has begun, which will fire one arrow, and allow you to move without wasting the charged mp.


Regular Skills

Metal Shot

(Grade 1) Archer’s 1st grade level attack that enables the user to shoot 5 arrows at different angles to damage targets. This skill has high attack strength, but it doesn’t have enough power to be used as a critical or finishing blow. Also known as Big Shot.

* This shot instantly loads 5 Arrows, and then shot into widened range.
* This skill can still be aimed like regular arrrows.

Arrow Rain

(Grade 2) Archer’s 2nd grade level attack that enables the user to shoot a volley of arrows that will arc and fall over a wide area. The arrows are shot above the user’s head, so this skill is effective on targets above the user. Also known as Castle Rain.

* Skill shoots arrow above the user, and then rains down several other arrows down below.
* Is most effective when the arrows going up hit an opponent, as they do the bulk of the damage.

Arrow Storm

(Grade 3) Archer’s 3rd grade level attack that enables the user to shoot a large volley of arrows that spin in a spiral to inflict great damage to targets. This spinning allows the arrows to spread over the entire screen, making this attack difficult to dodge. This skill is especially effective at causing critical damage to enemies at close range. Also known as Shooting Star.

* Shoots a massive amount of arrows, and they all move in spiral form.
* The arrows come back after leaving and "follow" the user to hit a second time. These arrows seem not to invoke arrow defense

Cash Skills

Attack Swing

(Grade 1) Archer's 1st grade level attack, that enables the user to perform an upward blow with the bow that launches the opponent to the air, attacks can still be performed whilst the opponent is in the air.

* User will rush and swing her bow upward.
* It is possible to perform other combos with this skill.
* This skill is a melee attack, so it can't be blocked.

Eagle Sight

(Grade 1) Archer's 1st grade level buff, that enables the user to zoom out the camera. This allows the user to see farther and allows for greater accuracy when shooting arrows.

* For 30 seconds, it increases the user's sight range.


Flame Arrow

(Grade 3) Archer's 3rd grade level attack, similar to Metal Shot the user shoots five explosive arrows in different angles. Flame Arrow can deal lethal damage to any opponent who gets into the user's attack.

* Similar to Metal Shot, only the arrows do 5x more damage, since they explode on impact.
* This skill can also be aimed.
* This skill is very promising, since it can't easily be avoided.

Guides for Archer

Auto Shot

Auto shot is a technique that is sometimes referred to as "Otto". It is a repeated process of shooting arrows so that the arrows are one after the other. Once a player becomes the victim of Auto shot, he or she is usually hit by at least 5 or more continuous arrows causing possibly a lot of damage. Timing is incredibly important when trying to use any of the below. There are many ways an archer can otto depending on where they are at. Below are some ways.


1. Edge otto: This can be done at only certain edges of maps. The opponent should be below the edge and in front of you. To do this, you must hold the ← or → key as Z is pressed continuously at a very specific speed. It is walking off the edge, shooting an arrow of which will boost you back onto the edge, walk off, shoot another, etc. This allows a player continuously shoot at a rapid speed delay and preventing the opponent to run away from the arrows.


2. Ground otto: This can be done at any flat surface on any map but requires fast hand movement. The opponent should be directly in front of you or in front AND below you. It is accomplished when a players walks forward, jumps, pushes himself back in the air by shooting an arrow, walks forward, jump, shoot, walk, etc. The player is to press →↑Z continuously to do this.


3. Wall otto: This is done at the end of a map, otherwise known as a wall. The opponent is also to be damaged in front and below you like edge otto. The archer walks towards the wall, jumps, turns around to face the opponent, and shoots. It requires many keys pressed in a short period of time but is somewhat efficient and easy to do. The keys are ←↑→Z. The faster it is pressed the more arrows are going to hit.


4. Platform Wall otto: There is very limited areas to do this. Only on some thick platforms that are attached to walls can this be completed such as the Upright most platform in Elven Forest map. It is a considerably simple otto that is done by pressing ↓Z. As the platform is thick, when pressing down and Z, it will not only allow the player to shoot and arrow, but allows the player to stay on the platform. Timing is incredibly important in this one.

Avoiding Beserk

Don't you hate it when Elesis beserks you and hurts you badly? Guess what, there are a few ways to avoid it!

1. Don't shoot the last shot. The last shot in your chain of arrows triggers the beserk.

2. Unfortunately, the last shot is also the strongest, and without the last shot you're delayed and vulnerable. Here's a trick: while you're shooting, press the "z" (or whatever your attack key is) key extremely fast. Right when your Lire (we're using Archer or Nova as example) is about to shoot the 4th arrow, hold down "z" and charge up 1 bar MP and release. You might think "but that still doesn't shoot the last arrow!". Wrong. Because you pressed "z" so fast that even when you're charging up MP Lire is still shooting, so if you can time it right, you can shoot all your arrows, trigger beserk, but avoid getting hurt!

Crossbows' Characteristics

Crossbowmen use dual crossbows to rapidly fire multiple shots, and can move extremely fast. They can jump to great heights depending on the player’s skill, and can use visually breathtaking special abilities such as Fan Shot, Harpy Hunt Shot, and Dance Tempest.

* 1 Gaikoz Seal. You can obtain these by defeating Gaikoz, Boss of Gaikoz's Castle, on 3 star difficulty.
* 10 Crossbow Fragments. You can obtain these by defeating various monsters found in between the Marsh of Oblivion and Gaikoz's Castle.


Crossbow Skills
General

Crossbowmen shoot their bolts more rapidly than Archer. She shoots 9 bolts compared to Archer's 5 Arrows in a regular combo.

Has a "High Jump" ability, to jump Super High by a single jump.

Has an "Arrow Rain" ability, where she jumps up, flips over, and shoot down rapidly.

Dash is changed into a Cartwheel, giving her slight invincible frames and allows her to go through her opponent, like Arme's dash. She can shoot bolts as a critical attack while Cartwheeling. Note that the Cartwheel cannot avoid "Jump!" attacks.

Bolts disappear after a certain length of the screen, unlike arrows, which go across the screen.

Crossbowman's Grab Animation is unique, because when used on an opponent, they will "rise" up but then "fall" after.
In addition, Crossbowman's Grab Animation is the quickest of all characters.
Regular

Fan Shot

(Grade 1) Fire a volley of bolts that spread and fan out. Also known as Quick Shot.

* Fan Shot shoots 4 bolts on each side, like a Fan.
* Can be aimed up or down.
* Can cause knockdown

Dance Tempest

(Grade 2) Recklessly fire bolts while dancing. Also known as Beat Rush.

* Shoots multiple bolts in all directons.
* Can do great damage from close range.

Harpy Hunt Shot

(Grade 3) A skill that was originally developed for Harpy hunting, but found to be very useful in battle. Inflicts serious damage by knocking a Harpy out of the air to crush enemies! Also known as Dive Bombing.

* Shoots many bolts into the air, which kills a Harpy, making it fall to the ground.
* The Harpy does heavy damage to the target.
* Bolts can be blocked, but Harpy cannot.
* Harpy can be easily dodged, as it falls slowly and in a straight vertical line.


Cash Skills

Trampoline Kick

(Grade 1) Lire stuns the enemy with a downward kick then launches them upward with an upward kick.

* Does Great damage. the Downward kick does grazing damage and stuns enough for the upward kick to hit, doing high damage.
* One might compare this attack to a Donkey Kick.


Arch Ranger

What is an Arch Ranger?

As the Bermesiah Continent continues to suffer from the war between the humans and the forces of darkness, the Elves created a special bow made of Innadrail scales passed on from their ancestors with the hope of returning peace to the continent. Only the best archers were allowed to use the bow. These elite archers are known as Arch Rangers.
Arch Ranger's Characteristics

Arch Rangers wield a powerful giant bow with an advanced design that enables dynamic arrow attacks that fire at incredibly high speeds.

Arch Ranger Skills
General

Arch Rangers wield Great Bows, a heavier variety of the bow, but do not wield lesser dexterity.

During a Combo, Arch Ranger can end her combos in two different Melee attacks:

* Up Combo Attack: Arch Ranger swings her bow in an upwards-slashing motion, knocking enemies into the air.
o Air grabs are possible if you make contact with an enemy in PvP
* Down Combo Attack: Arch Ranger jabs one of her Great Arrows in front of her, stunning enemies slightly
o This attack jabs in whichever angle the Arch Ranger is aiming at.

The Arch Ranger is Lire's first class in which running and Air Dash is available to players.

Arch Rangers also have two different Dash Attacks, both possible on the ground and in the air.

* The first is the basic Turn-shot, in which Lire fires an arrow behind her to knock enemies down.
* The second is the Bow Uppercut which is very similar to her Up Combo Attack.

Arch Rangers have three different Aerial Attacks:

* Basic Aerial Attack: Lire shoots down arrows similarly to her first class.
o This has less of a push than Archer's arrows, so certain ottos can be difficult to pull of as Arch Ranger
* Down Aerial Attack: Lire shoots directly downwards at enemies
o Two possible shots can be pulled off.
o This can be used as a pseudo-Double Jump to help Arch Rangers reach higher platforms.
* Up Aerial Attack: A melee-based attack in which the Arch Ranger swings an arrow above her.
o This swings one of her Great Arrows above her to damage enemies.


Arch Rangers only have a 3-hit combo, with a 4th possible hit with a Critical/Double Attack.
Regular

Hyper Shot

(Grade 1) Arch Ranger’s 1st grade attack enables the user to shoot an arrow straight toward a target: this shot will pierce through the target and damage enemies behind it. This skill is commonly used repeatedly to create an opportunity to strike enemies with a finishing blow.

* Shoots an arrow that fires straightforward.
* Because this is an "enhanced" Arrow, it cannot be blocked, nor reflected.
* Does not kill the target, but can lead to grabs.

White Wind

(Grade 2) Arch Ranger’s 2nd grade attack enables the user to swing her bow to attack enemies at close range. This skill is intended to help players escape when surrounded by enemies, or as crowd control for defeating groups of enemies.

* A Spin attack at close range.
* User can move left or right during this form of attack, giving it slight range.
* Recommended to use it against nearby targets.

Chakra

(Grade 3) Arch Ranger’s 3rd grade attack is an advanced version of Archer’s Arrow Rain. Enables the user to fly in the air and shoot arrows upward. These arrows will fall to the ground in a huge explosion, and unlike Arrow Rain, this skill only inflicts damage on the arrows’ way down. Chakra isn’t very effective on single enemies, but it is useful on giant boss monsters and groups of enemies because of its wide attack range. This skill can also instantly finish downed enemies that are trying to stand up or are in the middle of resurrecting. However, the character is vulnerable before and after using Chakra so this skill must be cast carefully.

* Shoots several arrows into the sky, and rains down explosions.
* Shots aiming to the sky do not do damage at all, unlike Arrow Rain.
* Leaves the user vulnerable from skills after cast. On the other hand, the Raining Explosions can easily prevent this weakness.


Nova

Weapon: Composite Bow

Obtained: 4th Job Change (Quest Required)

What is a Nova?

Novas are legendary Elven heroes whose name means, "One that will save the world from darkness". Lire is Eryuell Island’s very first Nova.

Although Kaze’aze has been defeated, a new crisis threatens the Continent of Bermesiah: the Elves must confront Dark Anmon’s invading forces if they wish to restore peace to the land. The Elven elders of Eryuell Island discovered ancient weapon schematics in the Kastulle Ruins and incorporated what they learned to develop a new, more powerful weapon, the Composite Bow.

After Lire defeats Kaze’aze and Dark Anmon and completes the test detailed in the Kastulle Ruins’ weapon schematics, the Elven elders will reward her with the new Composite Bow and the title of Nova. Lire, as Eryuell Island’s first Nova, is an inspiration to all Novas who come after her.
Nova's Characteristics

Novas are Elven archery masters who move with complete freedom and wield Composite Bows which combine the strengths of a crossbow and giant bow. This allows for the rapid multi-shots of the crossbow and the powerful finishing blows of the giant bow to be incorporated in devastating combo attacks that can swiftly defeat enemies before they can approach a Nova. Her high jumps and agile dashes are essential to the Nova’s basic combat strategy of confusing and maintaining distance from enemies. Even when surrounded, Novas can use short-range skills to break through the enemy line.


Nova's Crest: "Light of Nations"

The "Light of Nations" Crest is an item to represent the user as a "Nova". This item needs to be acquired by getting Nova during the Nova Event.

Nova Skills
General

Basically a fusion of a Archer, Crossbowman, and an Arch Ranger.

Some of Nova's skills are somewhat reminiscent of those from her earlier jobs, but with new flair and different graphics.
Regular

Charged Shot

(Grade 1) Nova’s 1st grade attack. Forcefully push back a nearby enemy by ramming them with your shoulder; then rapidly fire three arrows, followed by one powerful arrow.

* Dash Attack + 3 Arrows + Charged Arrow.
* Most people use it for the arrows, more than the dash attack.
* Arrows can still be blocked, but leads to a lot delay.

Blood Rain

(Grade 2) Nova’s 2nd grade attack. Allows the Nova to quickly shoot multiple arrows above her head. The arrows will shower down on a spot in front of and behind the Nova.

* Shoots red arrows into the air. On each side of the Nova, it will open a pentacle and rain more red arrows.
* Blood Arrows cannot be blocked.

Burst Shot

(Grade 3) Nova’s 3rd grade attack. A critical skill that enables the Nova to fire multiple arrows at a high speed to inflict a large amount of damage to a target and then fire a powerful burst of arrows to finish off her enemies.

* Shoots many "Nova arrows" to the target, and 5 Charged Shots that explode on contact
* Attack is similar to Harpy Hunting & Flame Arrow combined.
* Basic arrows can be blocked, but the Charged Shot cannot.
